asked the Minister of Labour if he will inquire into the case of Cecilia Morris, aged 17, of 43, Beatrice House, Blendon Row, Walworth, S. E. 17, who was sent from the Borough Exchange to an occupation different from that to which she was accustomed at Messrs. Hartley and Company's, of Bermondsey, jam manufacturers, on Wednesday, 1st June, when she was provided with work from 2 to 6 p. m., continuing on Thursday for two hours only (through lack of work) from 8 till 10 a. m., Friday 9 a. m. till 6 p. m., Saturday 8 till 11 a. m., for wages amounting to 2s. 7d. (exclusive of the three hours worked on Saturday), which were not paid till a week later, and who, after being told that there was no work for her on Monday and refusing to pre- sent herself on the Tuesday, was suspended from unemployment benefit for a period of six weeks?

Benefit was disallowed in this case by the insurance officer. It is open to the claimant to appeal to the Court of Referees; in the absence of such an appeal the decision must be regarded as final.
