HC Deb 26 July 1927 vol 209 c1030
69. Colonel DAY

asked the Minister of Health, in view of the attack rate and mortality rate of diphtheria in London, what methods of co-operation exist between his Department and the educational and administration departments in the metropolitan area for the introduction of immunisation by means of the Schick test?

Sir K. WOOD

The method of my right hon. Friend's Department in this matter is to assist the local authorities by giving expert advice and offering consultation and technical assistance where necessary.

Colonel DAY

Is it the opinion of the officers of his Department that the systematic adoption of this system will effect a great saving of child life especially in London?

Sir K. WOOD

That is entirely a different matter.

Colonel DAY

No, it is not.
