HC Deb 25 July 1927 vol 209 c847
64. Colonel APPLIN

asked the Secretary of State for Air whether he is aware that a commission in the Royal Air Force was refused the son of an Englishman, born and educated in this country, on the grounds that his mother was an Anglo-Indian; whether he is aware that this young man is the great grandson, on his mother's side, of a distinguished British officer in India; and what steps he will take to rescind this decision?

Sir P. SASSOON

I have no knowledge of the case referred to in my hon. and gallant Friend's question. If he will communicate the particulars to me privately, I shall be glad to look into the case.
