HC Deb 20 July 1927 vol 209 cc392-3
47. Mr. W. M. WATSON

asked the Prime Minister if it is the intention of the Government to introduce legislation to give effect to the findings of the Royal Commission on Mining Subsidence during the lifetime of the present Parliament?

Sir B. CHADWICK

I have been asked to reply. The recommendations of this Committee will require much more attention than there has been time to give them at present, and it is impossible at the moment to say more than that they will receive the fullest consideration.

Mr. PALING

Are we to understand it is the intention of the Government to do nothing in regard to the mining question?

Sir B. CHADWICK

The hon. Member must understand the very clear answer I have given.

Mr. R. RICHARDSON

Have the Government started to do anything yet?

Sir B. CHADWICK

I will read the answer again.

Mr. SPEAKER

No, that would he repetition.
