HC Deb 14 February 1927 vol 202 c544
29. Colonel WEDGWOOD

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether the decision to reconsider Nigerian land policy, as announced by the Governor of Nigeria in the Legislative Council on the 1st instant, applies to the whole of Nigeria or whether only to Southern Nigeria; and is it proposed to submit this question to a commission of inquiry in this country or in Nigeria?

Mr. AMERY

I have had no communication with the Governor on this subject, and have only seen a summary of his address to Council reported in the Press. I propose to await the arrival of copies of his address, but so far as I am aware no proposals for altering the land policy of either the Northern or Southern Provinces have yet been put forward.
