HC Deb 10 February 1927 vol 202 c263
29. Mr. EVERARD

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in view of the extra cost of the police in certain areas of the country owing to the coal dispute, he will consider making some special grant to the authorities concerned?

The CHANCELLOR of the EXCHEQUER (Mr. Churchill)

Under existing regulations one half of the extra cost referred to will fall upon the Exchequer and I see no justification for special assistance in addition.
