HC Deb 14 December 1927 vol 211 c2299
29. Mr. BUCHANAN

asked the Minister of Labour if he has yet fixed a site for the new Central Exchange in Glasgow; where the site is situated; when the work of building is likely to commence; and if any time limit has been fixed as to when the building will be finished?

Sir A. STEEL-MAITLAND

A site has been purchased for this purpose at the corner of Waterloo Street and Douglas Street, and, subject to the necessary financial provision, I hope that the erection of the building may start sometime in the next financial year. It is not proposed to fix a time-limit but there will be no avoidable delay.
