HC Deb 13 April 1927 vol 205 c344

The following question stood on the Order Paper in the name of MISS LAWRENCE:

4. To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he will state what action has been taken with regard to the Shantung troops who took refuge in the International Settlement at Shanghai; whether they are still in the Settlement; and, if not, where have they been conveyed?

Miss LAWRENCE

I beg to ask this question, and apologise for not being here to ask it earlier. May I have an answer?

Mr. SPEAKER

The Foreign Minister is not here. There is no obligation on any Minister to wait.

Miss LAWRENCE

The Under-Secretary is here.

Mr. SPEAKER

The Foreign Minister himself is answering questions to-clay.
