asked the Home Secretary when Timothy Slavenke, an alien Communist, who was recently sentenced to imprisonment for three weeks and recommended for deportation, entered this country; and what were the grounds for allowing him to do so, having regard to his record?

I believe that this man came to the United Kingdom before the War. In the circumstances the last part of the question does not arise.
