HC Deb 07 April 1927 vol 204 c2270
75. Mr. CLUSE

asked the Postmaster-General whether, in view of the overtime now being worked by clerks in the money order department of the Holloway Post Office, and, as suitable temporary staff is available, will he make arrangements for the re-employment of demobilised temporary women clerks?

Viscount WOLMER

Arrangements have already been made to fill the existing vacancies for women clerks in the money order department by permanent staff, and I hope that the necessity for overtime to any extent will, therefore, shortly disappear. I do not think it desirable to engage temporary women clerks for the short intervening period before the permanent staff takes up duty.
