HC Deb 07 April 1927 vol 204 cc2267-8
68. Major RUGGLES-BRISE

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he will give a Return of the exports to Egypt during the last completed year, for which figures are available, from each of the following countries, namely: Great Britain, France, Germany, Belgium, Italy, and Greece?

The PRESIDENT of the BOARD of TRADE (Sir Philip Cunliffe-Lister)

The answer contains a series of figures, and my hon. and gallant Friend will perhaps agree to my circulating it in the OFFICIAL REPORT.

Following is the answer:

In the case of some of the countries named, published particulars of their exports to Egypt are not available in respect of any year later than 1924. I accordingly append a statement taken from the Egyptian Trade Returns showing the value of the imports into Egypt from the countries specified, in the year 1926:

Imports from £
United Kingdom 11,698,000
France 5,823,000
Germany 3,891,000
Belgium (including Luxem burg) 2,274,000
Italy 4,663,000
Greece 1,059,000
