HC Deb 07 April 1927 vol 204 cc2259-60
62. Mr. HERBERT WILLIAMS

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies when he hopes to be; in a position to announce his decision with regard to the recommendations of the Committee on Agricultural Research and Administration in the Non-Self-Governing Dependencies?

The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for the COLONIES (Mr. Ormsby-Gore)

As regards Part I of the Committee's Report, which relates to the training and recruitment of officers for the agricultural Departments of the non-self-governing Dependencies, I would refer by hon. Friend to the answer which was given to the hon. Member for North Bradford on 23rd February. I am unable to say when I shall be in a position to make a statement with regard to the proposals and recommendations in the other parts of the Committee's Report, but many of these are at present under active consideration.
