Mr. THURTLEasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether, in view of the ratification of the Treaty of Paris of 1920, His Majesty's Government is committed to render assistance to the Government of Rumania under Articles 1700 10 and 17 of the Covenant of the League of Nations in the event of any invasion of Bessarabian territory?
§ Sir A. CHAMBERLAINI think that the hon. Member must be under a misapprehension. The Treaty does not come into force till ratified by Japan as well as by Great Britain, France, Rumania and Italy.
