HC Deb 04 April 1927 vol 204 cc1669-70
24. Colonel WEDGWOOD

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies when factory and workshop legislation in accordance with modern practice will be introduced in Palestine?

Mr. AMERY

Certain legislation has already been enacted, and under municipal Regulations officers of the Department of Health may at all times inspect establishments or factories engaged in trades scheduled to those Regulations. I understand that more effective and modern legislation for the supervision of dangerous and unhealthy trades and industries is being prepared and that draft legislation dealing with the employment of women and children in industry and with the inspection of factories is also under preparation.
