HC Deb 04 April 1927 vol 204 c1670
25. Colonel WEDGWOOD

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he is satisfied with the present laws relating to the stamping of documents in Palestine; and when does he expect that such legislation will be put in to order and coded?

Mr. AMERY

The Ottoman Stamp Law still prevails in Palestine. It has been found to be unsatisfactory; and, when the new currency for Palestine is introduced, it will be replaced by a comprehensive Stamp Ordinance, which has already been prepared and has been passed by the Advisory Council.
