HC Deb 04 May 1926 vol 195 c186

asked the President of the Board of Trade, whether the Committee which considered the question of key industries took any steps, before issuing their Report, to consult those interests which are opposed to the duties; and, if so, can he state the names of those who were consulted and the interests they represent?

As stated in paragraph 9 of the Report of the Committee, detailed statements were received from a, number of individual users and associations of users of the various classes of commodities to which the Report relates. Evidence was also furnished by the British Chemical and Dyestuffs Traders' Association, which comprises a large number of firms importing chemical products.
