HC Deb 04 May 1926 vol 195 c185
3. Colonel DAY

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he is aware that large quantities of buttons made from the congealed blood of animals are being imported into this country from Germany and Czechoslovakia; and, in view of the danger incurred by the use of buttons of this form of manufacture, will he consider steps to prevent their importation?

The PRESIDENT of the BOARD of TRADE (Sir Philip Cunliffe-Lister)

My attention has not hitherto been drawn to this matter. If the hon. Member will let me have the data on which his question is based, I shall be happy to consider it.

Mr. HARRIS

Could we not have the questions read, Mr. Speaker?

HON. MEMBERS

No.

Mr. SPEAKER

I think hon. Members may be trusted to know the wording of their own question.

Mr. HARRIS

But other Members do not know what are the questions.
