HC Deb 03 May 1926 vol 195 c20
25. Mr. SCURR

asked the Attorney-General whether he is aware that a considerable number of justices of the peace for the Tower Division of London are nonresident in the county, and that several on the roll are not acting as justices; and whether, in view of the inconvenience to residents in the Tower Division owing to the large number of non-resident justices, he will inquire into the matter?

The ATTORNEY - GENERAL (Sir Douglas Hogg)

I would refer the hon. Member to the answer which I gave to his question on this subject on 25th February, 1925. I am informed by the Lord Chancellor that since the date of that answer my Noble Friend has been informed of the deaths of four magistrates attached to the Tower Division, and that he has appointed 11 new magistrates who are attached to the Division.
