HC Deb 23 March 1926 vol 193 cc1028-9
53. Captain STREATFEILD

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he has considered the broad principles of a percentage tax on certain hotel and restaurant bills on the lines of the Entertainment Tax, as a means of raising revenue?

Mr. CHURCHILL

I can only say that, in accordance with the answer given on the 26th November last to my hon. Friend the Member for Gravesend (Mr. Albery), I have been carefully considering the question of luxury taxation.
