HC Deb 23 March 1926 vol 193 c1029
54. Mr. THURTLE

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in view of the state of the national finances, he will bear in mind the desirability of increasing the existing Death Duties and existing Super-tax?

Mr. CHURCHILL

I must ask the hon. Member to await the Budget statement.

Mr. THURTLE

In this connection, will the Chancellor of the Exchequer bear in mind that the rich are steadily getting richer?

Mr. H. WILLIAMS

May I ask whether, as a result of increased taxation imposed in the last Budget, the Revenue has increased or decreased?

Mr. CHURCHILL

I think that question has been debated very fully on previous occasions.
