HC Deb 23 March 1926 vol 193 c1012
23. Mr. ERSKINE

asked the Secretary of State for War whether, seeing that during the late War the infantry traction proved, under service conditions, to be inadequate, he will consult the official records at the War Office from fighting units as to the comparative merits of the Furber hand-ambulance and the Miller James hand-ambulance before deciding on the official pattern?

Sir L. WORTHINGTON-EVANS

The question of infantry traction is one which is under continual investigation by the military authorities, and all available records on the subject, including those relating to the comparative value of different hand-ambulances, have been fully considered.

Mr. ERSKINE

Can the records be produced or are they secret?

Sir L. WORTHINGTON - EVANS

They are produced to me, but not to my hon. Friend.
