HC Deb 16 March 1926 vol 193 cc223-4
20. Mr. ROBINSON

asked the Secretary of State for War whether, seeing that Army Order 365, 1925, withdraws from soldiers enlisting or re-enlisting after lath October, 1925, the addition of 4d. per day issuable under the regulations in force prior to that date to Army pensioners on reaching the age of 65, he will state the reason for the issue of the Order; and whether he will consider the withdrawal of the Order so far as it concerns men who re-enlist to complete 21 years' service for pension without any break in their service?

Sir L. WORTHINGTON-EVANS

The hon. Member appears to be under a misapprehension. The Army Order in question is applicable only to new entrants and persons who re-enlist; it does not affect the pension rights of soldiers serving on 10th October, 1925, who extend or re-engage to complete 21 years' service for pension.
