HC Deb 16 March 1926 vol 193 c253
81. Mr. GILLETT

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he is aware that the whole of the Kikuyu tribe is in a state of anxiety about the security of its land tenure; and what steps are being taken to allay this anxiety and to carry out the East African Commission's recommendation that the lands of the Kikuyu should be delimited and administered on their behalf by a trust board on which Africans should be represented?

The SECRETARY of STATE for COLONIAL AFFAIRS (Mr. Amery)

I have answered questions on this subject on the 2nd, 8th and 15th March. Until I receive the detailed recommendations of the Governor, which I am now awaiting, I am not in a position to give any further information to the House.
