HC Deb 16 March 1926 vol 193 c220
9. Major Sir CLIVE MORRISON-BELL

asked the President of the Board of Trade if any further Report is being prepared on the Customs and tariffs of European countries on the lines of the Balfour Report; and, if so, if he can say when it is likely to be produced?

Sir P. CUNLIFFE-LISTER

A very full account of tariff rates in 1924, as compared with 1914, was prepared by the Board of Trade, and is given on page 538 to 585 of the "Survey of Overseas Markets" issued by the Balfour Committee. Later variations from time to time are published in the Board of Trade Journal. I do not think that without the expenditure of much extra labour and expense it would he possible to do more than this.

Sir C. MORRISON-BELL

Shall we have another Report from the Balfour Committee?

Sir P. CUNLIFFE-LISTER

Yes; the Balfour Committee is issuing a further Report, hut it is on a different aspect of the inquiry.
