HC Deb 08 March 1926 vol 192 cc1916-7
27. Mr. MacNEILL-WEIR

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he is aware that the gendarmerie in Palestine, which has previously consisted of Jews, Arabs, and Circassians in equal numbers, is being disbanded and reorganised on a basis excluding Jews; and whether he will take steps to prevent such racial discrimination, which has given rise to discontent and will militate against harmonious relations in that area?

Mr. AMERY

I have nothing to add to the reply which I gave to the right hon. Member for Newcastle-under-Lyme on the 2nd March. I am still in correspondence with the High Commissioner on the subject of the proposed new frontier force.
