HC Deb 08 March 1926 vol 192 cc1885-6
13. Mr. SNELL

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies to what extent the recently established offices and showrooms of the East African Dependencies in Cockspur Street are being used by the public, and whether the experiment may be regarded as fulfilling the purpose intended by the Government in opening the offices?

Mr. AMERY

During the two months for which the office has been open there have been 189 interviews, exclusive of casual callers, and 52 inquiries were received at the stand in the British Industries Fair. The correspondence during the same period has amounted to about 1,000 letters in and 1,000 out. So far as can be judged so soon, the office is fully proving its usefulness.
