HC Deb 08 March 1926 vol 192 cc1894-5
18. Mr. W. BAKER

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he will consider the introduction of a system whereby officials administering Protectorates and Dependencies may exchange visits with the officials of other Powers, to enable them to become acquainted with the regulations and methods adopted by other administrations?

Mr. AMERY

It is already the practice for visits of courtesy and informal meetings to be exchanged on suitable occasions between the officers administering the Governments of British Dependencies and the corresponding foreign colonial officers. I doubt if there would be any advantage in attempting to give a more formal character to these visits.
