Sir CLEMENT KINLOCH-COOKEasked the Minister of Labour whether he is aware that in the course of a maintenance case in South Wales it transpired that the defendant, a coal trimmer, was earning £4 9s. a week and at the same time drawing unemployment benefit, and that the court inspector explained that the man was only working three days a week and was therefore entitled to draw benefit; and will he take steps to amend the law to prevent the occurrence of cases of this kind?
