asked the Prime Minister whether he will consider the question of introducing legislation to provide for preliminary compulsory arbitration in all industrial disputes?

The PRIME MINISTER

I should be prepared to consider favourably any proposals designed to avoid stoppages of work, but there is no reason to believe that compulsory arbitration would be found practicable in this country.
