HC Deb 10 February 1926 vol 191 c1031
53. Captain GARRO-JONES

asked the Prime Minister whether he intends to set up a Committee to deal with questions affecting education,

The PRIME MINISTER

No, Sir. There already exists a statutory Consultative Committee to advise the Board of Education upon any matters referred to it; teachers' salaries are dealt with by the Standing Joint Committees, presided over by Lord Burnham, and there are Standing Committees considering questions relating to adult education, juvenile organisations, and matters of common interest to the Board and to the Ministry of Agriculture. In addition, there are at present sitting, as The hon. and gallant Member is doubtless aware, a number of Committees, which have been specially set up to advise upon certain specific questions relating to education.
