PERCYMy Department have no power to inspect private schools unless they are invited to do so. 214 schools have declared themselves open to inspec- 469 tion by the Board under Section 147 of the Education Act, 1921, and the reports on schools so inspected are sent to the local authority concerned. In addition, a number of schools have invited the inspection of the Board under the provisions of Section 134 (3) of the Act, and the results of the inspections have been notified to the schools.
