HC Deb 30 November 1925 vol 188 c1804
24. Mr. WELLS

asked the Undersecretary of State for the Home Department, as representing the First Commissioner of Works, whether, in view of the success attending the installation of sound-amplifying apparatus in another place, he will consider the desirability of a similar installation in this House?

Mr. LOCKER-LAMPSON

I am not aware of any general desire for such an installation in this House—[HON. MEMBERS: "Hear, hear!"]—the acoustics of which are much better than those of the House of Lords.

Mr. WELLS

Would the apparatus not be of great assistance to those sitting up in the Galleries?

HON. MEMBERS: Speak up! We cannot hear.
