asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he will furnish the figures showing the total amount of money granted or loaned to Iraq by His Majesty's Government since the coming into force of the British Mandate?

Mr. AMERY

There has been no grant or loan to Iraq until the present year, when a sum of £90,000 was provided in the Supplementary Estimates for Middle Eastern Services as a Grant-in-Aid of Iraq Revenues in connection with the re-organisation of the Iraq Army.
