HC Deb 25 November 1925 vol 188 c1364
74. Sir ARTHUR SHIRLEY

BENN asked the Minister of Labour whether his attention has been drawn to the use of the words "Labour Exchanges" by some commercial agencies in their advertisements; and whether, in order to prevent any person being deceived, he could make it more generally known that no official organisation is now called a Labour Exchange?

Sir A. STEEL-MAITLAND

I am aware that some advertisements of this kind have appeared. The official title of the employment agencies administered by the Ministry of Labour is "Employment Exchange," and the opportunity my hon. Friend has now afforded will, perhaps, serve to make this generally known, so far as it is not known already.
