HC Deb 24 November 1925 vol 188 c1135
40. Mr. LIVINGSTONE

asked the Secretary for Scotland whether he intends to put into effect the recommendations of the last Deer Forest Commission; and, if so, when?

Sir J. GILMOUR

This subject is receiving my consideration in relation to other questions of agricultural policy, but I am not at present prepared to make a statement with regard to the prospects of legislation which would be necessary to give effect to the main proposals of the Committee. Under the Agricultural Returns Act recently passed the Board of Agriculture propose to take steps to obtain returns of stock in respect of land used as a deer forest.

Mr. STEPHEN

Will the right hon. Gentleman be able to make a statement before the close of the Session?

Sir J. GILMOUR

I am not able to make a definite promise, but I hope to do so.
