HC Deb 24 November 1925 vol 188 cc1134-5
39. Sir A. SINCLAIR

asked the Secretary for Scotland whether he is yet in a position to announce the decision of His Majesty's Government with regard to the recommendations of the Scottish Agricultural Conference?

Sir J. GILMOUR

I am not at present in a position to make an announcement on this subject, but I hope to be able to make a statement respecting certain of the matters dealt with in the Report on the completion of discussions which are in progress.

Sir A. SINCLAIR

Does the right hon. Gentleman not realise that the first two of these recommendations were with regard to drainage and lime, and that it is essential to get a decision from the Government on this point in time to put in an application?
