HC Deb 19 November 1925 vol 188 cc543-4

The following Question stood on the Order Paper in the name of DR. SHIELS:

6. To ask the Minister of Pensions if he will state why the medical superintendent and medical officer of Edenhall Hospital, Midlothian, have been replaced by English doctors; if there is any professional or other qualification possessed by the new superintendent which the late one had not; and if he is aware that medical and lay opinion in Edinburgh and district condemns the action of the Ministry in this matter, as the hospital was highly efficient and the work of the superintendent much appreciated?

Sir HENRY CRAIK

Before the right hon. Gentleman answers this question, will he consider the very grievous injury which will be done to Scottish doctors—

Mr. SPEAKER

The question was not asked.
