HC Deb 19 November 1925 vol 188 c543
1. Mr. ROBINSON

asked the Minister of Pensions whether in any cases dependant's allowance has been refused to widowed mothers of single men in receipt of treatment allowances on the ground that the pensioner was available for employment; and whether, in all cases where the men under the Regulations have supported their mothers since discharge as far as they were able and the mothers drew separation allowance while the sons were serving with the forces, he will issue instructions that the dependant's allowance shall not be withheld?

The MINISTER of PENSIONS (Major Tryon)

An allowance could not be refused on the ground specified by the hon. Member, and I am not aware of any case in which the allowance has been so refused. The grounds of eligibility for the allowance are set out m the Warrants and Regulations of the Ministry. If the hon. Member has any particular case, of difficulty in mind, I shall be pleased to look into it.
