HC Deb 19 November 1925 vol 188 cc561-2
31. Mr. TAYLOR

asked the President of the Board of Education if he can state in detail what he regards as non-essentials in the present school curriculum; and the total saving in the national expendi- ture on education that would be possible if the curriculum were revised in accordance with his views?

Duchess of ATHOLL

My right hon. Friend is afraid that these are not matters with which he can undertake to deal within the limits of an answer to a question.

Mr. TAYLOR

Would it not be possible to give local authorities some idea of what the President of the Board of Education considers non-essentials, in order that in framing their schemes they may know what to do?

Duchess of ATHOLL

If my right hon. Friend has any reason to think that local education authorities are placed in any difficulties, that there is anything that they do not understand, he will be happy to enlighten them.
