HC Deb 19 November 1925 vol 188 c579
53. Mr. HARMSWORTH

asked the Prime Minister what results, if any, have attended the mission of the Privy Council Committee, presided over by the Duke of Atholl, which went to the Channel Islands with a view to their inhabitants contributing to the British Exchequer?

Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS

I have been asked to reply. I am informed by the Lord President of the Council that the Committee have not yet reported, and no statement, therefore, can be made at present as to the result of their inquiry.

Mr. HARMSWORTH

Does the right hon. Baronet know at all when the Report of the Committee is expected?

Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS

The Committee are now engaged on the examination of the evidence of the witnesses, and they hope to be able to report by the end of January.
