HC Deb 18 November 1925 vol 188 c380
74. Mr. THURTLE

asked the Minister of Labour on what grounds he is excluding the representatives of local trades and labour councils in the re-appointment of local employment committees?

Sir A. STEEL-MAITLAND

As I informed the hon. Member in reply to his question in March of the present year, it is the general rule that representation of workpeople on local employment committees should normally be obtained from trade unions, and this rule has been followed in the reconstitution of committees which is now proceeding.
