HC Deb 18 November 1925 vol 188 cc386-7
70. Mr. ROBINSON

asked the Minister of Labour what societies or undertakings have received a capital grant of £25 per head for each disabled man employed; whether they enter into competition with firms on the King's Roll who employ disabled men but do not receive capital assistance; and what is the amount accruing to each undertaking during the 12 months ending 31st March, 1926?

Sir A. STEEL-MAITLAND

Up to the present no society or undertaking has received a capital grant of £25 per head for each severely disabled man employed. A capital grant has, however, been made to one undertaking at the rate of £12 10s. per head for 20 severely disabled employés. I am unable to state whether any other undertaking may receive assistance in the form of capital grant during the remainder of the period of 12 months ending 31st March, 1926. Having regard to the kind of undertakings which alone can become qualified for this grant, I do not think the question of competition with other undertakings is of any real importance.
