HC Deb 04 May 1925 vol 183 c555
10. Mr. LANSBURY

asked the Under-Secretary of State for India whether the Government have given instructions that the recommendations of the Lee Commission Report are to he extended to European members of the Superior Central Services recruited in India and who have an Asiatic domicile?

Earl WINTERTON

I would refer the hon. Member to Statutory Rules and Orders No. 1395 of 1924. The pay and passage recommendations of the Lee Commission Report have been extended to members of the 15 Central Services, which it has been decided to regard as superior in precisely the same way as they have been given to members of the All India Services (other than the Indian Civil Service), that is to say, eligibility for these concessions depends upon an officer having a non-Asiatic domicile. The pension concessions have also been given to the 13 of these 15 services, which are pensionable on a rupee basis, and for these an officer of Asiatic domicile is eligible.
