HC Deb 31 March 1925 vol 182 cc1119-20
103. Mr. H. WILLIAMS

asked the Minister of Labour if he is prepared to take steps, in consultation with distributors of newspapers and journals, to popularise the circulation of the Labour Gazette, in order that accurate information on industrial questions may be more widely spread?

The MINISTER of LABOUR (Sir Arthur Steel-Maitland)

Certain special steps have been taken recently to bring the Gazette to the notice of possible purchasers. I will consult with the Stationery Office as to whether action on the lines suggested by the hon. Member can usefully be taken.

Sir J. NALL

Can the right hon. Gentleman say why, if people do not want to buy this paper, it is proposed to continue printing it?

Sir A. STEEL-MAITLAND

There are a lot of people who want to buy it, and I have been asked from various quarters to see if it cannot be extended.
