HC Deb 23 March 1925 vol 182 c33

asked the Minister of Agriculture what is being done to encourage research in the direction of the scientific preservation of fish as an article of food; and what, if any, results have already been achieved in this direction?

The Fish Preservation Committee of the Food Investigation Board has for some time past been engaged in investigating the question of the preservation of fish by various methods, and, in particular, by freezing. The Committee have issued three interim Reports, and, in addition, a general account of their work is contained in the annual reports issued by the Food Investigation Board. These investigations have not yet resulted in any definite conclusions, but are being continued.
