§ 37. Mr. RAMSDENasked the Secretary to the Overseas Trade Department if he is aware that it is now necessary to present a declaration sworn before a notary public before a commercial invoice can be accepted at a Cuban consulate; and whether, seeing the inconvenience and expense caused to exporters, he will make representations to the Government of Cuba with a view to their accepting a declaration certified by a chamber of commerce?
Mr. SAMUELMy hon. Friend will be glad to learn, and I am glad to report, that the Cuban Government have suspended indefinitely the requirement to which he refers in order that the matter may be reconsidered.
