HC Deb 12 March 1925 vol 181 cc1520-1
106. Commander CHARLES WILLIAMS

asked the Minister of Agriculture the number of vessels which have lost their gear off the South Coast of Devon; and the estimated loss to these men?

The MINISTER of AGRICULTURE (Mr. Edward Wood)

The only information I have on the subject is contained in a statement furnished by the Devon Sea Fisheries Committee, which I think refers to losses incurred by Brixham fishermen only. According to that statement, 42 vessels lost trawling gear of an estimated value of £5,464 during the year ended April, 1924.
