HC Deb 12 March 1925 vol 181 cc1511-2
69. Mr. MACQUISTEN

asked the Minister of Health whether the proposed Ministry of Health broadcast talk by Dr. McFadden, a permanent paid official of the Crown, on questions relating to food is to be free of controversial matter; is Dr. McFadden being paid for this lecture by the British Broadcasting Company or by anyone else; and, in view of the Departmental rule against officials of the Crown engaging in publicity, will he inquire into the matter?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative, and to the second part in the negative. The answer to the third part is that officers of the Ministry who provide information by this means do so by my direction and on my authority.
