13. Lieut.-Commander KENWORTHY

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty what personnel for the repair and upkeep of the new dockyard at Singapore and work on His Majesty's vessels it is intended to employ; what proportion of the persons so employed will be British, and Who will the other persons be; when it is proposed to send the British personnel out, or whether they are already on the spot; and what housing arrangements are being made for them?

The ultimate number of officers and men to be employed on the repair and upkeep of the naval base at Singapore and work on His Majesty's ships has not yet been decided, but the following personnel will be employed on the arrival of the floating dock for upkeep of the dock, and in connection with repairs to ships:

Permanent housing accommodation will be provided for these numbers before the floating dock is installed in about three years' time.
