HC Deb 27 July 1925 vol 187 c27
47. Sir FRANK MEYER

asked the Prime Minister whether, with a view to increasing the time available to Members for debate, he will consider the advisability of recommending a Standing Order of the House whereby Members who have put down Questions for oral reply, and who are not present when their names are called from the Chair, shall not be granted a second opportunity, cither in person or by deputy, of putting their Questions on that day?

The PRIME MINISTER

No, Sir. I do not propose to recommend any alteration in the practice at present in force as regards questions on the Paper for oral reply.
